Misquotes Attributed To Me, And The ECA’s Policy On Health Claims Related To Usage Of Electronic Cigarettes - ECA President Matt Salmon’s personal e-mail
September 16, 2009
Matt Salmon wrote: To whom it may concern: It is my understanding that your company has attributed a quote to me that I have not made. You stated: “According to Matt Salmon, president of the Electronic Cigarette Association, available information shows that electronic cigarettes reduce the risk of illness and death to under 1% of the risk posed by tobacco cigarettes.” This quote was made by Dr. Joel Nitzkin and not by me. I am not a scientist or doctor and the policy of the ECA is that electronic cigarettes are not marketed as a healthier alternative than cigarettes nor as a smoking cessation device. We market our products to those who seek an alternative to combustible tobacco and are above the legal smoking age. Thank you, Matt Salmon
I must apologise for the inaccurate details on the press release, we will ensure that future ones do not slip up like this. We have altered it to reflect Dr Joel Nitzkin. Apologies again, I am happy to do a release stating the change. Please forward a suitable press release to me and we will pay to get it published. Kind regards Michael Kitt Cheap Electronic Cigarettes Owner.

The Smoke Vs Vapor Battle - prlog.org
June 30, 2009
I watched a spotlight feature on a local TV station a few months ago regarding a nifty little gadget called the “Electronic Cigarette” and couldn’t help but think it was most likely the greatest thing since sliced bread. What an absolutely brilliant idea … nicotine without all the harmful chemicals, astounding. It was due to the loss of his father to lung cancer, that Hon Lik, Ruyan’s chief designer, delivered the solution to the problem all smokers have faced for years … devastating health issues and ultimately death … no ifs’, ands’ or butts about it.
On July 22nd, the FDA released a statement warning of the dangers involved in using this product. I was curious about what the FDA had uncovered, since tobacco products include approximately 599 ingredients many of which are poisonous and carcinogenic in nature and produce around 4,000 toxic chemicals when smoked. To think someone had actually come out with a more dangerous product and had the gall to market it was truly amazing.

Finally, a product has arrived that is a reasonable and completely viable option for smokers. In fact, the Electronic Cigarette, Pipes and Cigars are products that the consumer has already accepted and embraced over the course of the last few years, until of course the FDA stepped in.
I have to admit that I was lulled into a false sense of security and complacency by the years of empty promises regarding safer tobacco products duped into believing that my health and welfare were being taken into consideration by the major players in the game. However, due to the recent events leading up to the electronic cigarette controversy. I started to wonder and as a result I have gone over the test results, read through the Safety Reports, mulled over each objection one by one and now ask one question, what on earth are they thinking?
