In response to: CASAA warns consumers: Electronic cigarette study misleading

"E-cig and cigarette smoking is just the same that causes unhealthy lifestyle."

Do you just cruise the internet and post to blogs without having a clue what they are about? The electronic cigarette is in NO way the same as a tobacco cigarette.

Educate yourself. People like you spreading misinformation like the FDA will be responsible for millions of deaths if eCigs are banned out of ignorance and greed.

Cant believe that tobacco alone accounts for 400k deaths a year in the US.

Wonder what the cost to the economy is.

My brother has been a smoker since age 18. He's now 58 and looks 68. My father died from lung cancer at 70, even though he had stopped smoking for several years. The poisons in tobacco levy a heavy price. I've been researching ecigs vs tobacco. The way I see it, there are more pros than cons to ecigs. So I'm getting him a starter kit for his birthday . . . so he can have a few more of them.

Keep the faith. The FDA is in the business of capitalism-killing. Oh well, great idea.

Why don't you just give up smoking altogether. Wouldn't it just make your life easier? I feel bad for the people that are so dependent on sucking niccotine that they can't set it down for a day without feeling like they're going to die... What they don't realize is that they ARE going to die from smoking and cancer.

Wouldn't you agree that if electronic cigarettes are receiving so much bad press to be removed from stores, that regular cigarettes should be removed as well?

Great article! We need real studies conducted. CASAA and the FDA have been irresponsible in their efforts to condemn something they haven't properly evaluated.

I agree with you completely. The questions and concerns surounding the Electronic Cigarettes are just that, myths. I applaud you in setting the record straight. I am against the affects of second-hand smoke and believe that the electronic cigarette can eliminate that problem. Again, thanks for the valuable information and I hope to hear more.

Good arguements, but I still don't see the point of an electronic cigarette. I like the ease of my camels.

Hi, I just started using electronic cigarettes last week and already can see a reduction in normal cigarettes. My wife likes the fact they do not smell and have no ashes to clean up.

They are extremly dangerous to the bottom line of Pfizer, the cessation manufacturing company that spent millions using tax exempt political action committees (charities) to get these smoking bans in the first place, They are undermining the entire purpose of expensive smoking bans. Also, unlike Chantix, they have no mind altering drugs and can be safely used by airline pilots, railroad engineers, truck drivers, and others in jobs where public safety is an issue. Seeing that semi driver in my rear view mirror with a cigarette is a comforting sight. www.rwjf.org/pr/product.jsp?ia=143&id=14912

There has yet to be a single death using the electronic cigarette reported, and they've been out for about 4 years. 2 million people died due to smoking related diseases during that same period.

And the government wants to ban them. I think the fucking government should be the ones that gets banned.

Great Article! The AAPHP (doctors) also support electronic cigarettes and say they can reduce the deaths from 400,000 a year to 10,000.

I heard he retracted his comments on a forum because he used a better electronic cigarette and used a urine analysis to find he did have nicotine in his system

Whether or not electronic cigarettes are a viable means of smoking cessation hinges not upon whether or not they provide inadequate amount of nicotine during inhalation or if there appears to be a placebo effect. Rather, the effectiveness of these devices in smoking cessation hinges upon whether or not a smoker can use them over a relatively short period of time (not to exceed six months) in place of cigarettes, and eventually stopped using them and not resume smoking.
